  • History is Made of Memories - Somerstown. Long term Community Project: project with exhibitions and events to archive the regeneration of the Somerstown area with artistic and technological practice and theory through a partnership of Portsmouth University, Portsmouth City Council, Millard Woodroffe Contemporary Art and the Peoples Action Team for Community Harmony (PATCH). The residents of Somerstown are being invited to visit Portsmouth University’s SPACE Gallery where their memories of Somerstown will be filmed and recorded for use in the historical archiving of the area.

Classes/Workshops, and Other Experience

  • Art Classes for Year 5 at St Judes School June 2010
  • Half term & Easter 2010 holiday fun art sessions for children ages 5 - 12 years. School Holiday Kids Art Sessions
  • Dot to Dot Landport Courts Mosaic Workshops, assistant artist, Portsmouth. February 2010. Creation of a large tile mosaic to go on an outdoor wall on the estate. The design was created by Dot to Dot artists in conjunction with the local community, and then Groups of school children plus children from drop in sessions during the holiday completed the mosaic tile work with the artists.
  • 2010, Community Project: History is Made of Memories - Somerstown Where: SPACE Gallery, Portsmouth. January 25-27th 2010. 2 day event where I discussed life and memories of Portsmouth with residents of portsmouth and drew their portraits (initial event to develop project concepts for ongoing project.)
  • 2009-10 Running Art classes for individuals and groups.
  • 2009 Big Draw Campaign Events: Group portrait sketching at a local pub and Belly Dancer Art Class Party Night for Charity - Keep a Child Alive.
  • 2009 Running summer painting workshops (all ages) at the I am Joy Festival, Chichester. http://www.iamjoy.co.uk. Wrote a brief for children togain inspiration to paint on50+ canvases to be exhiibited in Priory Park as part of the festival. Selected an artist to talk about (Matisse; with the theme of Joy of Beauty/Life.)
  • 2006-2009 Parent Helper for school trips Nursery, Reception to year 2.
  • 2007, Mayfield School, Assistant Artist: Propaganda in Art Workshop, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
  • 2007, 'African Legacy' Festival: Artist Running a weekend workshop for children, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Planned the design of African instruments to be made by children of all ages, written instructions/background information, and sourced materials. Over 60 children made djembe drums and shekere shakers. I also managed an assistant volunteer.
  • Face painting for 50+ children at St Luke’s School for the city carnival.
  • 2004-2009 Part time virtual administration/event coordination for the Association for Project Management.
  • 1996-2007 Internet art direction (graphic design/illustration) and internet project management. Director of own company & freelancing in New York and UK after 2001. (E.g. clients Ogilvy and Mather, ABC, Greys Advertising, and clients such as American Express, IBM, Cancer Reseach UK). Art director for one of three banners which won Ogilvy and Mather the Gold ICON 2000 Award for Banner Campaigns for Marketing Computers.
  • 1989 Interior Design Internship. Milton Keynes.
  • 1989 Children's Nursery Work Placement with Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

  • 2010. Campaign for Drawing Workshop & Seminar (1 day) 'Power Drawing Active Learning in Primary and Secondary Schools Across the Curriculum'.
  • 2009. Level 3 BTEC PTLLS (Preparing to teach in the life long learning sector) Certification, Highbury College, Portsmouth.
  • 1989-2009. Life Study classes at Portsmouth Grammar School (ArtSpace), Art Student's League New York, Cooper Union New York, Bletchley College of Art and Design, and Dr Sketchy London.
  • 2004-2009. Attended monthly Association for Project Management Seminars.

There will be a Private View on Fri 26th February from 6.30 – 8.00pm. Mon, Tues and Thurs 9.30am – 8.00pm, (Weds to be confirmed). Fris by appointment.  Sats 9.30am – 1.00pm.  Closed Bank Holidays.
